1. Introduction
NetStability ("the App") is a network stability trend analysis tool developed for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
NetStability does not collect any of the following:
Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, address)
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Location data
Browsing history or app usage patterns
Contacts, photos, or any other device content
Network names (SSID) or passwords
IP addresses of visited websites
3. Data Collected Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data exclusively on your device for the purpose of providing stability analysis:
Connectivity status changes — Whether your device is connected or disconnected from the network, and the interface type (Wi-Fi, Cellular)
Latency measurements — Response time (in milliseconds) measured by sending lightweight HTTP HEAD requests to Apple's public connectivity check endpoints
Timestamps — When each measurement or network event occurred
Important:
All data is stored in a local on-device database
No data is ever transmitted to any external server
No data is shared with third parties
Users can delete all stored data at any time from the Settings screen
Data is automatically purged based on the user-configured retention period (default: 30 days)
4. How Data Is Used
The locally stored data is used solely to:
Calculate stability scores and trends over time
Generate charts and visualizations within the App
Provide insights and recommendations about network reliability
5. Network Requests
The App makes periodic lightweight HTTP HEAD requests to Apple's public connectivity endpoints (such as captive.apple.com) solely to measure network latency. These requests:
Do not transmit any user data
Do not include any identifying information
Are standard connectivity checks used by iOS itself
Only occur while the user has actively started a monitoring session
6. Third-Party Services
NetStability does not integrate any third-party services, including:
No analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
No advertising networks
No crash reporting services
No social media SDKs
No cloud storage or sync services
7. Data Security
All data is stored locally using Realm database within the App's sandboxed storage on your device. This data is protected by iOS's built-in security mechanisms, including:
App sandboxing (no other app can access the data)
Device encryption (when passcode is enabled)
Secure storage managed by the operating system
8. Children's Privacy
NetStability does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
